Urban and Rural Community Centers
Young people and members of vulnerable communities have developed capacities - incl. initiative + including self-help - to improve their career and living conditions.
Syunik-Development NGO has a network of Community Centers (CC) in the Vayots Dzor region. These CCs were established through the Development Programme in South Armenia, an initiative funded by EED (www.eed.de) (Evangelischer Entwicklungsdienst, Germany).
3 existing town community centers (Yeghegnadzor, Vayk, Jermuk) and the 3 village community centers (Hermon, Chiva and Taratumb) are places where the (young) people of the community engage in activities organize by themselves.
Various courses and clubs ( chess, bead work, pottery, painting, handicraft, dancing, singing), Counseling Services (health and legal, English and Computer Courses are running in the centers on the acquisition of key skills for the modern labour market, for self-employed work and for personality development as a whole.
Besides all above mentioned courses, trainings and workshops, the Community Centers facilitate exhibitions and competitions, debates, open days, discussions, excursions, cleaning activities and other events, which are initiated by the young people visiting the community centers.
